Inspiration.
The inspiration for Holistic Impact was firstly to choose a name that embodied what the intention of the practice was going to be. A space that does not compromise on the importance of creating a CALMING environment with COLOURS, SMELLS and SOUNDS that create a SAFE SPACE.
As an Osteopath Kemmy has understood that healing does not just come from the physical treatment. Approaching a patient in a space that matches the intent of the treatment is also important. There is a vulnerability to getting treatment, opening up can be difficult on a normal day.
Holistic Impact creates a space that isn’t rigid but the emphasis is on feeling safe and as close to nature as London allows. Through her own experience Kemmy has understood the importance of seeing THE BODY AS A WHOLE and not as individual parts. There is a great emphasis on the mind and body connection.
Our bodies can be very vocal about where our mental state is, which is why the mind and body connection is too important to ignore. Healing through movement is where IMPACT comes in. Our bodies are made to move whether it’s going for a walk or improving your diaphragmatic breathing. Understanding the mechanism of your injury and LEARNING how to manage, or how to stop it from reoccurring, is discussed through your treatment journey with Kemmy.
The patient is part of the treatment so you as an individual have a greater understanding of YOUR body.
There was always a dream of moving to London, a big city compared to the small town in Sweden where she is from. Kemmy came to study Osteopathy in 2009 and has made London her home since then. She has 10 years experience in Osteopathy, after qualifying with a Masters in Osteopathy in 2013 from the British College of Osteopathic medicine. Since qualifying she has had the opportunity to work in Osteopathic and Chiropractic settings, which have both influenced her treatment style.
In 2019 she became a finalist for the Associate Osteopath of the Year Award, presented by the Institute of Osteopathy. The time felt right to start thinking about starting her own Osteopathic Clinic. She started 2020 by becoming a Visiting Expert for award-winning wellness resort Six Senses and achieving one of the highest rankings as a visiting expert in her first year. Her recent work over the past few years at luxury resorts has influenced her treatment environment, involving all your senses into her treatments, creating a calming healing space for her patients. London will always be the base for Holistic Impact with the expansion into our own product range and individual treatment visits, in neighbouring European countries, for high profile clients.
